If you unload the plist it stops plexconnect.

If you want to update manually just unload the plist, navigate to your plexconnect base directory then type this command:
git pull
Then reload your plist.
As an alternative you can use my app and it will automate all of this for you or auto update if desired. You can check if PlexConnect is running also with my app or its addon.
