Have I wasted my time and money?

The main reason I purchased Plex Pass was to copy pictures from my phone/tablet because we are going on a one month trip to Europe. The problem is Plex will not copy pictures from sub folders on either. I asked a question about it a few days ago and have received no response.

Perhaps I’m expecting too much from this community and Plex programmers, but it is disheartening to find the program doesn’t something so simple and the “support” that was advertised seems to be vapor.

I am very disappointed.

Which mobile devices (iOS, Android, or Windows)?
And are these sub folders located below the default Camera Roll folder of the phone?

Android

Good question and I’m not sure. When I open the gallery and have Album displayed at the top of the display I see all the separate albums on the screen. I just checked and none of the pictures except the Camera album have been copied to the server.

And thank you for responding. I seem to have a difficult time getting responses on help forums. You’re the first from any for over a year. It gets very frustrating.

The Plex Android app will pick up all the folders under and including the DCIM folder

Sorry guys, I gave @hthighway the wrong info. The Plex apps will only see the folder used by the default camera app. If you have other camera apps that use their own folders, these will not be seen.

To confirm what photos will be uploaded, you can enable seeing the camera roll in settings, then switch to local device and look at local photos. What you see there will be what gets uploaded. Same with the local videos. What you see is what gets uploaded assuming uploading videos is supported on your device.

I only use the camera app that came with the phone.

Where in settings do I enable it to see the camera roll? You need to be more specific/thorough for new users. We don’t know where things are in the settings.

Okay I kept digging around and found it. There is a check in the yellow box net to “Show camera roll media”.

Still only pics from the Camera album.

Okay Local Device. Looking… Found it. It only shows the photos that are already uploaded. No other albums display their photos.

Can you tell I edit as I work?

Question about “non-default” camera app. Does that include Gallery that comes with the Galaxy Note4? If so, how do I sort into albums using the default app, which as far as I can tell is only a camera?

Gallery is not a camera app, it’s a photo viewer. Gallery will look for every folder on your device that has a picture. The Plex app does not look for all these folders. I have a Samsung S6 so it should be similar. In Gallery, there is an album called Camera. That is the camera roll, and those are the only pictures that will upload to Plex. There isn’t a way to have the Plex App see other folders. As a workaround, you can use a file manager program on your device to move/copy the pictures from other locations to the camera folder. Then the Plex App will see it and will upload those.

I do appreciate your help. It’s great that I can actually get help on a forum. Seems a rare bird for me.

Again, thanks!
