Sometimes when I visit the forum, it will say “log in” at the top of the page.
Clicking this button (of course) logs me in.
It seems to happen a few times a week.
In the past, I would be always logged in.
I think this is a bug.

I have noticed the same thing.
Plex does not use their own forum solution, it may be a change from the provider.
It was an intentional change based as a security concern multiple folks had messaged me about. It kept you logged in for 2 months.
If you are already signed into regular marketing site or app.plex.tv on a particular device, then all it takes it hitting the log in button and the continue as [your email] button on the auth page on which is quick so I made it really short 2 day thinking if you were on every day anyway it would not matter much but I guess not using on the weekends or holiday.
I really have no problem making it a bit longer, like a week, but 2 months is excessive IMO and really not difficult to log back in.
I went ahead and made it a week.
