- I disabled all automatic media scans, still get those messages all the time.
- the system is under load every 30 sec for 10 sec when there is NOTHING going on, no scan running, no playback, nothing. It affects 1 CPU Thread then. From what I see Plex only uses one, so during that times the server acts very slow if I have a playback request. This is happening now with the most recent version.
We need to peel this down a layer or two because I’m running on Fedora and QNAP but can’t replicate it.
What are the host OS’s these systems are running on?
Are any of the docker containers, or the metadata (/config) diretories, stored across the network?

Is the above ‘filtered’ with grep or is that all which existing in the logs?
Without knowing what PMS is doing when those occur, (forgive the metaphor) it’s like looking for a leak without lights.
If filtered, may I have the ZIP file please which captures these?
Does the PMS have DVR configured?
For me it’s running on Ubuntu 18.04-2, no Docker or other virtualisation layer. The system specs are above. System (and also the database) is installed on a SSD, the actual data is on huge rotating disks on the same server.

Thats the last part of my plex server log as there is nothing connected to the server.
as you see above you get this warnings for a given time (13 sec in my case) and then it makes a 30 sec break and starts all over

The above log part is not filtered. There is nothing else going on on the server because no client connected.
If you need more data let me know. I just try to avoid to send whole logfiles to this thread because I don’t know what kind of personal data is stored in there.
Windows, no docker, no config/etc on network drives. Everything plex related on SSD except data on spinning disks. No DVR
I just installed the update to 1.17.0.1841 and it seems the issue is gone.

Found this thread when searching for errors that appear in my server logs. Get a short burst of activity every 30s that causes 1 core to go to 100% utilization and then right back down. Repeats itself in perpetuity. I’m running 1.18.0.1913 on Windows 10 (just upgraded to this version so am waiting to see if this issue surfaces again after a restart). This happens while the system is otherwise completely idle.

Thats exactly what I described earlier. For me this was gone with 1.17.0.1841 (I’m on public updates). Seems they fixed this in public version but not in beta yet.

Been seeing this for a while now too. Not sure when it started but it has persisted through the last several releases.
CentOS7, fully updated. Current Plex Server Public version. (I should note, this is not a docker install, this is running straight on the machine.)
Database is 211mb, system is a Core i5 4th gen and Plex is running from an SSD. This system is blazing fast, so something seems to be wrong with what Plex is doing here.
I have ran the database check and no issues were found or anything weird like that. Dumping and re-importing only changes the database size by a couple megabytes.

Pley was running fine since 2017 on this machine.
The Database is located on an SSD.
I have a lot of pictures and music. My Database is 401 MB

I noticed every 20 seconds or so, a single core will spike to 100% for a few seconds. the log shows the same as everyone elses.

Same problem, for quite some time (weeks at least). I’ve had to restart the service periodically when I noticed a playback client hung for long periods and then see it running with one CPU core pegged 100%. Try explaining that to a 6 yr old who just wants his Cars movie.

This is from the last 7 days, nearly 200K entries for a statistics error? How do I just turn off statistics, they aren’t for me, I don’t care or want them. Server is the latest stable version, 1.18.1.1973.
The machine is a dedicated Linux server, not running in a docker container, E3-1270 @ 3.6Ghz, 64GB of memory, running on an NVMe SSD. The collection is small and the only users are my family (of 3). No DVR usage. Database is set to optimize weekly, and machine is a 24/7 file server, so always on. Yes Houston, we have a problem.

I was also experiencing this problem in Plex 1.16.3.1402 on FreeNAS. A database repair appears to have corrected this issue for now. I followed the instructions for Linux and it worked exactly the same, though I did hit a couple of minor snags with the sqlite commands.
EDIT: I had go through all of these steps again today (12/23/19) for the same issue. I guess this is something I’m just going to need to do as necessary until a bug fix is released.
