Help!! Seriously I have no idea what to do. My PMS is consistently connected to my TVs as a Relayed Connection. I cannot figure out what is going on. I’m running latest PMS on Windows 10 which is hardwired into my router and have 3 Roku TVs at home. All on the same network. My wifi is Samsung Smartthings Wifi, and I have 3 hubs in a mesh setup. I’ve messed with port forwarding, IPs, all that stuff. I’m not a techie genius but I can manage basic things. Can anyone help?
Does your router has dns rebinding protection? If this is the case then the fix is router specific, but essentially you need to allow “plex.direct” for DNS rebinding. See this link, and scroll down to the “DNS Rebinding” section. I have a different router brand than you, but allowing plex.direct worked for me.
If not… I know you said the Roku TV’s are on the same network, but have you verified that they are on the same subnet as your Plex server? My mesh setup does and all use use the main router for DHCP, but again I’m a different router brand than you so I would be good to verify. You can check by going into your Roku’s menu, then “Settings” -> “Network” -> “About” to see the IP address of that device. I would expect the first three octets to be the same on all three Rokus and also as your server. (e.g. If your server’s IP is 192.168.1.x, where x is some number, then all of the Rokus IPs also start with 192.168.1.x where only the last number “x” is different.) If your Rokus are on a different subnet than your server then the Plex client likely thinks it’s running remote and tries to connect accordingly.
same thing here. Recently only. Previously I was streaming UHD movies to my Roku TV at very high speeds. Now I can only connect through relay. all while being on my home network. I blaming it on the update. I never had a problem until then
