i play movie with samsung app,
plex media server in nas
when i disable subtitle , movie play smoothly
but when i enable subtitle , nas cpu get 99% high usage !
when i use my nb to play movie in my nas and enable subtitle,
My nas cpu always get 20%~30% usage
anyone can help me solve this problem?
Plex media server ver :PlexMediaServer-1.10.1.4602-f54242b6b-x86
If the subtitle is not in SRT or an other ‘text-based’ format, then Plex server has no other choice than to ‘burn’ it into the video picture. Which produces cpu load.
Because the TV cannot decode other subtitle formats.
I have the same here. Samsung MU7009 with 3.2.2 and PMS 1.10.1.4602 (also tried with beta 1.11.2)
file has SRT subtitle included (I also extracted the subtitle)
subtitle is SRT - 1000000%
doesnt work

U can try play movie with NB and enable subtitle
It work fine~
So Strange thing.
Nas do transcoding and burning subtitle even play movie with Samsung TV app or NB.
Why only use app makes nas cpu 99% usage and use nb play movie work fine ?
as i say,i install plex media server ver 1.10.1.4602 at begining
all movie can play smoothly with subtitile enable
but when i update samsung tv app to ver 3.2.2 —>autoupdate
enable subtitle makes NAS CPU 99% usage when play movie use Samsung TV app
I dontknow where have older ver app to downgrade .

Thanks for info but I already knew that.
As mentioned I have tried severall options with new/old Tizen App and PMS - in every case I cant play subtitle.
When I use the same file with same TV in combination with Twonky Server my TV plays with SRT subtitle without problems. So the proplem should not be my TV - there is something in combination with TV and PMS, maybe one click in options but I try everything and I dont know what else I can do.
very awkward from PLEX team to bring out a client that needs transcoding to have SRT subtitles when XPLAY (made buy a 3rd party ) on my 2017 LG OLED TV with Synology NAS plays all 1080p and 4 K movies Flawlessly !!!
Plex TEAM we payed for LIFEtime pass to watch movies with subtitles !!! is this something too much to ask after 5+ years
