In which time range can we expect the fix?
It would be nice if a plex developer can say if this bug is finally in the todo list for the next server version.
It happens just again. I‘ve marked a tv show as unwatched and all history data are gone. How long should we live with this bug?
Any ideas when this bug will fixed?

I’m sure this isn’t the answer your looking for, but running Tautulli would solve this problem

Positive, it’s not retroactive tho. It tracks watch history on it’s own (based on actual server activity not watch status in plex) so it will only know the history from when you first installed Tautulli.

Thanks for the info however in essence it doesn’t work for anything already watched which is exactly what we are trying to stop being deleted.
I’ll stay with my direct db edits for now when I need it.
It won’t delete history when watched, it just also won;’ load up prior history form before it was installed. So it would solve the problem, just not retroactively.
Alas not a workaround I’ll consider. I’ve 21k+ play history TV records on my server. If I was to use this workaround I’d need to first figure out if something was watched after I enabled this third party tool and second I’m not willing to enable any third party applications on my server.
Thanks all the same for the suggestion and while is a partial workaround its certainly not a solution. I’ll stick with the export / import method I outlined here Changing a previously played episode/show/movie to unplayed deletes the data from dashboard watch history - #2 by dokuro.
