I see on my main account the news section but none of the managed users can see it. I’ve looked via the webui, the plex client on my nvidia shield, and rokus. I didn’t see any place in the settings to enable/disable the news section.
Managed users do not get News. The decision was made to exclude managed users because parents with small children typically set their children up as managed users.
If you want the managed user to have news, create a regular full-up free account and ‘share’ with that user.
Thanks for the response. We can allow/disallow channels right now for managed users. Could that be an option in the future for news as well?
My wife and I use managed users so that we an track our play history separately. If we both had full blown accounts we wouldn’t be able to switch accounts without having to log out and log in.
There are several threads requesting control of News. If/when engineering will grant such control remains to be seen.

You can add a full-blown account to your Plex Home, so switching accounts is just as easy as switching between managed users.
