I migrated my library to a NAS. The date added field all changed to the same date. I suspect it is reading either folder create date of the file creation date. I use the date added feature quite a bit. Is there a utility that will change the creation date to the release date? this would be enough of a fix for me.

Date added is supposed to be the date the media was added to the library. There is a date released field that you can use for sorting etc and I believe that is really all you need unless you are doing something in a way I cannot conceive. My suggestion is always try to use Plex in the way Plex was designed. That way you would have the least amount of trouble as you would not forcing Plex out of the way it was designed.
Plex is far far from perfect but it can be made even farther from perfect by forcing it out the way it was designed.
