When I modify the art-default or icon-default the changes are not shown. How do I clear everything that is cached for my plugin?
I'd like to know how to do this too.
The images are being cached by Plex, not PMS or the plug-in framework. They’re stored in “~/Library/Application Support/Plex/userdata/Thumbnails”. This is the same folder that stores thumbnails & fanart for movies & TV shows.
The best option is to rename the Thumbnails folder to something else while you’re developing. Plex will create a new one next time it starts. You can then safely delete the folder every time you want to clear the cache, and when you’re done working on your plug-in you can change the name of the old Thumbnails folder back & your downloaded media artwork will be there again.
Wow, that’s annoying when you’re updating a plugin that’s running on your ‘production’ system!
Is there a way to keep your movie fan-art and only get rid of application (like video plugin) cache?
Yes - unsurprisingly, this has been changed since I made that post last February ;) All cached plug-in images are now stored in a "PlexMediaServer" folder under the Thumbnails folder.
Good news, I will try it!
