Is your server linked to a Plex account?
IIRC that’ll require your clients to be signed in too in order to access the server (hence the forward to plex.tv)

the server is not linked !
and the client my webbrowser should just go to the Server 10.147.42.197:32400

there is no need to connect i just wish to watch my Film and My Music which is stored on my local NAS - no need to jump outside the LAN

just installed a new Installation on a new VM debian 11 new ip address
i did use another computer still it just redirect to the same address

Try: http://10.147.42.197:32400/web

thanks for you feedback @dane22

;-(
no just goes to https://app.plex.tv/

on some other help page i found the information to connect in by terminal

ssh 10.147.42.198 -L 8888:localhost:32400
this is not working

ssh root@10.147.42.198 -L 8888:localhost:32400
like this i could log in

but don’t know what should be done there

and some information about the status

To claim/initial run, you must be on the same IP Net, and that also has to be in Private Address Space, which you are on

When said, you should be able to open a terminal on your wkstn, and type:

ssh ip.address.of.server -L 8888:localhost:32400

Then on your browser, in incognito mode, browse to http://localhost:8888/web
