Hello,
the plex-data folder wich includes the meta-data and so on is growing up on my system.
I think this happens because plex stores copies of synced content in this folder, correct?
I know, some months ago the plex folder was only about 40GB large
but today, it is about 100GB large!
How can I clean this folder? I don’t want local copies of synced content…
Synced content should get erased, as soon as the upload to the could drive/mobile device is finished.
Sometimes, your shared users trigger a mobile sync without ever letting it finish (either because they don’t have the bandwidth or your remote access is non-functional or simply because they no longer use that particular device).
You can check whether it is really unfinished Sync jobs by checking the size of the two folders
Cache/Transcode/Syncand Cache/Transcode/Sync+
Both are situated within your Plex data folder.
But there is also another feature which consumes quite a bit of storage:
Video preview thumbnails.

Ok, thank you.
Where are the video preview thumbnails located? (in Windows)
Together with all the other metadata of these items.
Follow the links I set. There is no need to seek and erase them manually, as this would also introduce database inconsistencies. There are preferences to disable them and buttons to erase them all at once.
