HTPC: Intel GPU support HDR/Dolby Vision etc

My HTPC is a very old (2010) server running Quadro P2000, its also my Plex Server. I am looking at purchasing small PC or nuc for just HTPC and just wondering if I’m just using the GPU on the intel CPU will it support Dolby Vision/HDR??
I also have anthem receiver so it will do all the audio passthrough too?

Supporting Dolby Vision is both a technical and a legal challenge.
At this moment, there is no known software player which (officially/legally) supports DoVi.
Whether the Plex players will gain support for it is, as of yet, uncertain.
If you need/want it, you better use one of the high-end external player devices like nVidia Shield Pro or Apple TV 4K.

As stated, DoVi has issues but HDR10 is supported in Intel GPUs. Though if you are looking at a new machine, I’d recommend AGAINST one that has the UHD Graphics GPUs. They are very low power and require a lot of tricks to be performant. The Iris class and the new ARC class GPUs from Intel should be performant enough for HDR10 playback.

Though purchasing a PC just for running HTPC may be a bit expensive compared to other options. The Shield is a decent playback device as is the AppleTV (although the AppleTV is limited in terms of audio passthrough options). Many of the users of HTPC have a computer connected to the TV for other purposes as well (such as games) and so HTPC is providing a way to use the powerful computer already present for video playback.
