HTTPLiveStream causes crash of PHT

Hello.

 

I'm almost done making a complete rewrite of a channel.

My problem is this

 

My channel uses a global URL Service for on-demand materiel, and it works fine.

I've also use a local URL Service in the channel for live streams, since there is no idea in globalizing it.

When i hit play, it plays audio for a split second, and then PHT crashes.

My log files doesn't give me any help, so I'm stuck :(

Have you successfully tested on any other clients? If so, which ones?

There could be some info in the crash log which might be useful to devs in tracking down the source of the crash. As noted on the support site article, best to include the PHT log alongside the crash log.

Hey Mike.

Just tested it, and i it works fine on iOS and web.

Only problem is PHT.

BTW, can you grab the CrashDump that's generated when PHT pukes? I previously linked to instructions on how to find it.

I downloaded the linked channel bundle and the modified Services.bundle and it worked fine for me in PHT 1.2.2(OS X)? (I tested DR1 and DR2)

Are you perhaps using Windows or Linux variant of PHT?

One thing I noted in the Service code is that the container is set to MP4 which is not correct ... Try removing it and also set the key to HTTPLiveStreamURL:

BTW, FFMPEG is complaining about missing PPS(Picture Parameter Set) -> short version = a reference required to properly decode a frame in H.264. PPS(and SPS) are usually found in the very beginning of the stream, and in case of a live stream they need to be output periodically by the encoder.

(I don't think the above code change will make a difference though since FFMPEG properly has detected a H.264 NAL packet with reference to PPS = 0 which is very unlikely to match in a "random" byte stream )

Just FYI:

I looked in my PHT log after another successful playback of DR1 and the FFMPEG errors above are also present for me. As I wrote before, the SPS and PPS are periodically outputted in a live stream so I don't think this is the problem(i.e. FFMPEG will output these errors until a SPS/PPS is found).

I also tried with and without HW acceleration enabled(VDA) and it works both ways.

@meo. I'm using a MBP media 2010, and don't have the hardware for hardware acceleration, as far as i know.

I'll try and copy the files from my dev machine to my Mediacenter tomorrow, and post and update

OK, this might be a local issue.

Just copied the Channel to my live environment, and there it plays the live channels correctly.

OK, i'll Finnish it up and submit it for review in the weekend.
