I’m using 436.02 with HEVC hw decoding of 4k HDR streams.
For me, HW decoding only works when there’s a display plugged into the Quadro. In addition, I have to extend the display to the second GPU as well. To make it a bit less likely for random things to show up there, I set Quadro to 800x600 and configure the displays so that they only touch at a corner.
It’s a bit of a hack, but it’s the best I could find.
(This is on Windows, I haven’t tested Linux)
The new transcoder does seem to help somewhat, though I’m still noticing a bit of occasional buffering: it definitely seems less than before though.
