I wonder which ones of these feature requests are being worked on?

I pulled a big chunk of the feature requests with the most votes. I grabbed 164. Of those 22 were marked as done. 13%. These are the top 50 that are still not done although some of them have a workaround, are in process, or are almost there.

When you have your top requests sitting in limbo for over EIGHT YEARS, it kind of makes the whole ā€˜vote for what you want’ thingie a joke. Audio book support has over 1,400 votes and all it would take is album level resume and we can do it. That’s it. Prologue can do it but you can’t?

Most of us turn up on Election day, with promises ringing in our eyes. Years go by often the same old issues or policy to change. Guess what Politics are much the same, sounds very similar does it not.
Don’t despair, one day, it just might happen.

But hey you can now play old Atari games via Plex :stuck_out_tongue: People always (never) wished for that!

Or they see it like with the car: Nobody wished for that at the time of the horse carriage. Plex knows what we really want.
Sorry, I’m very frustrated around the support and transparency around the development of Plex.

I understand why PLEX won’t tell us what they are working on. I work for a software company and we don’t tell people that for a really good reason. Until we know it works, we don’t want to promise anyone that it is coming. You don’t want to tell your customers that you are doing X next only to find out that for who knows what, you can’t DO X. Dang.

But when something has been on the board for over 8 years, you are either NOT working on it (then tell us) or you can’t do it (tell us). Nothing takes over 8 years of development.

I suppose at some point it’s getting hard to shut down a request with many votes … keeping it in limbo vs. giving users the finality of a ā€žnoā€œ might just feel less harsh: ā€žmaybe sometimeā€œ

Looking at that list… I guessed there’s a number of items that certainly won’t happen (but I’m biased and hope Plex won’t waste resources on some of the ones I’m not particularly interested in) :innocent:

TL;DR: in the end it’ll all come down to what you can find in this thread/post: it’s suggestions and Plex may or may not consider them

side note: the list has a flaw as implemented suggestions have been archived and users tend to reallocate their votes once an item is done. That doesn’t mean you don’t have a point… it’s just missing a Part of the equation
