If Infuse can do it, why not Plex? (.ISO support)

It is infuriating that Infuse can flawlessly support disk images, yet Plex does not. I know that Plex says it isn’t their business model, but don’t they want to be able to compete with competing products?

Plex have been giving their argument as for why they won’t support ISO disc images for years.

There’s been similar requests on that exact matter which have been rejected in the past. The same will go for this one.

Well, then they’ll lose a paying customer. I’ve already moved on to Zappiti, so I now rip all of my content to .iso. However, I like Plex because I can share my library with my family. But, if they can’t see my content because Plex refuses to support .iso, then I see no reason to continue paying the annual subscription.

Question comes down to what you’re trying to achieve by having the raw ISO disc image. You can access your library’s content and any extras you want to keep from the disc much neater using the library management in Plex (without the need to pop up a different disc menu every time you open an item).

The reason I want to use an .iso is only for how I use the Zappiti. For purposes of the Plex, I just want Plex to play to main video file….I don’t need access to the menus on Plex. However, I don’t want to duplicate files by keeping an.iso for Zappiti and an .mkv for Plex.
