Intel has admitted that all Core CPUs of the 13th and 14th generation are urgently needing a BIOS update of the motherboard.
Otherwise, the CPU could suffer permanent damage.
This affects not only the K models, but all CPUs with a 65 W TDP and above.

As an immediate measure, make sure to enable the “Intel Baseline Power Profile” in your BIOS. This is meant to enforce a hard power limit for the CPU, according to the official specification of your CPU model.
Motherboard manufacturers almost always enable by default a power profile which exceeds the official spec, to gain a performance advantage over their competitors in benchmarks.
Check the website of your computer or mainboard manufacturer for an updated BIOS version now. Don’t wait until mid-August when Intel has announced to release a microcode update for their CPUs.
