Having a young family, I don’t have time like I used to. Whether it’s YouTube or my own media, my base playback speed for everything is 1.25x. If things are really dragging I’ll go up to 1.5x.
Looking at other media servers, I chose Jellyfin because playback speed is one of its base features. No plugins, no extra settings, just works right out of the box.
I really love Plexamp and will be keeping it for music and audiobooks but I’m gone for video until this feature is added.
Congratulations, glad you found a solution which works for you. I’m not sure why you found it necessary to trumpet it here. I mean, I guess you could fall back to the old trope “just trying to help others,” but man, that one’s getting tired. Just be happy you found a solution and move on; no need to gloat about it.
You have been a member here for about 7 years, you know by now how Plex works. Have you ever seen a similar “I QUIT” post result in positive change? Plex does what it wants when it wants. It is what is is.
I certainly know how the platform works, I was just hopeful they would have listened to popular demand after all this time.
I know Plex doesn’t ever appear to be swayed by votes but I figure at least saying something is better than doing nothing. Saying nothing is guaranteed to change nothing.
