Why is this not available yet?
Yeah. Was hoping to include some Christmas TV episodes in my “Christmas” movie collection
@willharris has said exactly what I wanted to use as an example of why I was looking to see if collections could be included for TV shows so count my vote too: the functionality already exists so I don’t see why it couldn’t happen…
My father-in-law is an actor, and I would like to tag each TV show episode he is in so we can easily find and view them. Tagging at the TV show level does not provide enough granularity.
Why doesn’t Plex listen to us? We’ve been wanting this for years.
Or at least another ability to put a folder withing a folder easily.
Chiming in as another user who has been waiting for this feature. Any status on this??
I also would LOVE this feature. I want to organize a large TV show by various collections too - episodes with a certain guest star, themes like “these episodes take place in the shows hometown”, etc. Can’t believe I found a thread asking for this for over 4 years! At first I thought it was a bug or I was doing something wrong, I was trying everything.
Guess I’ll use playlists for now.
Please look at adding this feature.
For Example:
I want to be able to create a collection of episodes across a number of series that have to do with Whales.
Surely with the Collection Engine already built this shouldn’t be hard to add.
Thanks
Simple feature request. 5 years later and here we are, no movement. Why are moderators linking to a 5 year old feature request and locking new threads about this request. Ridiculous. But no, go ahead Plex, concentrate on integrating more cloud services that nobody wants instead of working on simple features that people have been asking for for years.
With more and more people jumping ship for Emby and now Jellyfin really makes you wonder what Plex management is thinking.
Yeah, development is a joke lately. I’ll dump Plex and my subscription as soon as I have the time.
I would love this feature as well to organize tv shows based on characters instead of seasons/episodes.
Add me to the list of users wanting this. This feature would be perfect for grouping the DC Arrowverse crossover episodes, instead of having to hunt for each one to watch it in order.
Are we ever going to get this feature? We aren’t even getting acknowledgement that they’re looking into it or it can’t be done or whatever. At least answer us!
count me in on the desire to have this functionality. I’m not angry or threatening to leave.
Perhaps a “global” playlist would accomplish what I want so I could assemble them in the correct order with the right title and my kids could just login on their accounts and play the DVD they’re looking for. …Maybe mounting .iso files…old school but may be good. just thinking and drinking…not in that order.
5 years and this isn’t a feature? I would love to be able to take the marvel universe (TV shows and movies) Load them all into one collection (say MCU) and have them play in release order without making a playlist. Same for all of the Arrowverse tv shows. Please make this happen
Thank you! I don’t know why the feature was every removed in the first place, but put it back. A playlist only works for the user that creates it, My family all have separate accounts so our recommendations are personalized by viewing habits. Adding a “Collection” tag to the individual episode will let me build a Christmas TV Episode Collection, a Halloween TV Episode Collection, etc etc
Regardless of the reason behind wanting it, this has been a much liked request for over 5 years now, PLEX seems to be speedy when collecting the money form a lifetime pass subscription but less so when it comes to meeting the needs of their subscribers…
Id like to have the entire MCU including TV eps display in order in a collection.
Can you please look into this again? Years later people are still commenting they would like this feature.
Another use is TV Series that are Stand-up comedian based. I’d like to group the comedian’s stand-up specials with their tv appearances
Bumping +1 for support. This is greatly needed.
