So on my Roku, in the 4.3.2 (Preview) and 4.3.0 (public) channels, I still see the name of the video being played. It’s very different, though. In the past, the screen was black and the file name was displayed prominently center-screen.
Now, when I click Play on a movie, I see an image from the pre-roll video for a second, with the track name at the top left corner. Then the screen goes black (and the track name is not visible), then the pre-roll video plays.
On Plex Web, when I start a movie, I see the Pre-roll first, with no display of the file name.
I see no setting anywhere to suppress display of the name of the file being played.
It’s pretty insignificant now that it’s not center-screen, so I’m okay with it this way. Just wanted to report back on what I’m seeing.
Please just change the “Choose Cinema Trailers from…” option to show a list of libraries to pull from so we can just setup a “trailers” library and dump our pre-roll stuff in there. That way we can share that library with users, yet exclude it from the dashboard so it works cross library yet discretely hidden in the background.
@riptor7364 nailed exactly what I came here to request.
I have two trailer libraries: RecentlyAddedMovies_Trailers and UpcomingReleases
I would love to point the pre-roll at both libraries and have it randomly play X number from each.

Cinema trailers and pre-roll videos are two different things. There are other feature requests dealing with trailers.
@beckfield in theory, you’re correct. However, what I am echoing from both you and @riptor7364 is an enhancement of the pre-roll feature. I want to choose a library (for instance, my RecentlyAddedMovies_Trailers library) for pre-roll video (instead of selecting a single video) and have Plex select a random video to pre-roll.
For the OP’s consideration Enhancement #4: Gapless playback - or at least a black screen - when going from pre-roll to movie.
I used the pre-roll for all of 2 movies, the loading screen (even when it’s there for just a second) takes me right out of the cinema experience and makes the preroll video seem out of place. Making this gapless or in this case making the screen black would make the experience less disjointed.

However, in order for the pre-roll video to work, it must be in a library, and that library must be accessible to the user who is playing the movie. It kinda kills the magic when you can go play the pre-roll video directly by going to its library.
Enhancement #2: Allow multiple pre-roll videos, picking one randomly each time a movie is played. I envision creating a video library named “Pre-roll Videos,” containing only those videos. In Server/Extras, I would like to be able to simply select that library. Then, whenever a movie is played, a random video from the Pre-roll Videos" library is played after trailers and before the movie.
I’m happy to report that these items have been implemented as of Plex Server 1.9.5. Thanks!
Pre-roll videos no longer need to be in an accessible library. Multiple pre-roll videos may be included in the “Cinema Trailers pre-roll video” setting.

Before anyone asks, you can’t mix commas and semicolons as separators in the pre-roll field. o:)
As I am occasionally wont to do, I had a thought: “If I separated the first url with a comma, then used semicolons to separate the rest, could I have one video always play first, followed by a random pick of the rest?”
The answer is, “Nope.” It doesn’t break anything, but it doesn’t do what I was thinking of.
I don’t have any interest in having it work that way. I’m just cantankerous about testing little things like that for fun. :naughty:
Another request: Pre-Roll on TV-Show/Homevideo-Libraries
I have a 3-second logo-animation I would like to see on all my shared librariers.
