I love the new pre roll idea, but only one movie is not enough i think. There should be a solution to add a link to a video i want to show before the film or add a link to a folder with videos where plex can pick one random. THAT would be cool.
And there should be a possibility to set a playlist url as pre roll to select random from.
And if we could add more then 1 pre roll it were great. I have for example now a video to shut off handys and one for dolby audio sample video before the movie i want to show. Other maybe have more.
For me, I use it for something silly....I've made some custom studio intros with my name on them (see vipid.me for examples), and right now i can only show one of them...
But you could use it to show a "Silence your cell phones" video or whatever....
I use my pre-rolls as a way to annoy my family and friends whenever they watch a movie. I feel it is a small price for them to pay for free access to my media, considering all the work I put into managing the server. I do like the idea of random pre-rolls, and support it, even if that might be slightly less annoying for my family and friends. Hehe... :P

I was thinking maybe every movie starting with... Thank you for choosing... Barbies grand adventures or something. Probably get people restarting a few times baha
I’m so glad I am not the only one that really wants greater options for the Pre-Rolls… they could be such a cool feature.
I run a multi user server and would really like the ability to add different Pre-Rolls before different users play a movie… for instance I would like to play 1 intro b4 my family movies and another intro b4 my grownup movies.
Currently I also have a limitation/problem where I cannot even play the same (just 1) pre-roll across multiple users in PHT as I separate my library sections between Grownup & Family (family cannot see my grownup section as a user). So the problem occurs when I cannot add 1 Pre-Roll across my sections that are not shared between multiple users etc.
the only solution that I can think of… would be to create a new section called Pre-Roll and share it across multiple user, bit I don’t particularly want to do this just for a few intros.
+1 for me to have a pre-roll folder. Makes it easier to manage pre-rolls. Possibly support for multiple pre-rolls, 1 for Dolby/THX pre-roll, 1 for “Silence your cellphone” and 1 for “Feature Presentation” type of video
+1 from me as well. I like the idea of being able to tailor the home cine experience so you could even have something like pre-roll 1 (cinema policy), Trailers, pre-roll 2 (Dolby / THX startup) pre-roll 3 (our feature presentation)
That would be awesome and really add to the home cinema experience.
I came here looking for the same thing, so a big +1 for me. I think another way to do this might be to allow a playlist to be used as the pre-roll video, it would then play everything, in order, from the playlist before starting the actual movie.

I vote for the expansion of this feature too. I’d like modes to randomly pick a pre roll from a playlist and also the ability to have it play the whole playlist as a pre roll. Is it possible to remove the ‘loading’ circle from in-between each trailer & pre roll?
I found a script on here, I’m sure a search will bring it up, that would randomly pick a video file from a folder with pre rolls in it and set that as the default pre roll. Before the ability to add multiple pre roll paths in the Settings and allowing for files outside of Plex to be played, you had to add all the pre rolls to your library for it to work. Now it’s much easier and it work pretty well as you still only have to add one path but don’t have to have the pre roll videos in your library. Any new pre rolls I want, I just copy them to the folder I’ve chosen and is then part of the next random chosen when the script runs. I’ve set the script to run every 30 min so it changes the pre rolls.
