This missing feature is forcing me tu use XBMC + Plexbmc on my TV, i would love to see subtitles better handle by plex.
Currently i'm using batch script with filebot and plexbmc, batch script is working well, plexbmc not so, i have to reboot the raspberry so often to acces to my library.
Boring.
Hope to have a kickass subtitles plugin soon :)

edit: also if is possible from webui under subtitles that it says “None” if is possible to browse fsubtitles from the remote pc or something… be ausei usually see series/movies remotly andis helpful if i can upload or run subtitles srt when i see remotly the movie/serie now i run xbmc remote and search subtitles and then i see the serie/movie from plex

+1 This is a major drawback of PLEX, we need to keep searching for subtitles outside of the APP, this usually takes me to use XBMC as it provides a faster way of finding the required subtitiles.

+1 Just saw this functionality on a friends XBMC installation, and it almost made me switch on the spot! I've been a plex supporter from the start, and poor (almost non existing) subtitle support is a major deal breaker.
English is nok my main language, but I do ok, and get by without subtitles. My wife on the other hand.... Let me tell you something. If you want plex to ever become a major player, you need to win over the Wifes. And something as simple as subtitles (simple from their point of view) not working, well thats just a dealbreaker right there. They will never even get to all your fancy functions like airplay, syncing, sharing and pretty plugins if simple things like that don't work.
You might have won over the nerds (me included), but let me tell you a secret. We are not the ones who make the decisions. Wifes do ;)
So forget the feature requests made by nerds, and go ask some women what they think is missing with Plex.

I really enjoy the Plex ecosystem, and that's why I pay every month for my Plexpass even though I am a student and do not have any wage at the moment. But subtitles management drives me more than crazy.
As a non-native english speaker, it is a hassle to have to look for subtitles every time I want to watch a movie or a show. The open-subtitles agent is performing ok, but it is not really reliable and still requires a lot of manual processing which is in fact really time-consuming. I really want to emphasise on the fact that subtitles are a major concern for every english newbies out there, and by having an user-friendly feature Plex would be able to target a much larger audience. To me, some essential features are missing:
- Having the possibility to download subtitles directly from the client.
- Having the possibility to save subtitle offset.
- Being able to select audio/subtitles language preference per user.
XBMC does a pretty neat job for this and I would be more than happy to see this kind of feature implemented in the Plex clients.
So please Plex team, take this request into account! It will be a game changer for a large part of this community and it will also contribute to make this product more awesome than it already is! :wub:
I signed up for plex pass because I want to support the product. I use it for streaming to my phone and would love to replace XBMC on my main tv in the house. However my wife, just like ledge74 above, is a non-native english speaking viewer. So we pretty much download subtitles for every show. Even with XBMC I commonly have to try 4 or 5 different version of subtitles before we find one that works with with the file we have. This is just not workable if we were using plex on our main tv. It would be too painful to get one that works if I would have to do it outside of the htpc software. Here is me adding one more hand in the air for better subtitle support in plex. Please help me replace XBMC on my main tv with your awesome product! :)
