[implemented] Two Factor Authenticator for Plex account

/agree not a simple task.

Though for 3rd party stuff that depend on plex credentials could use an Application Specific Password like Google does.

They still have to be rewritten though => a lot of them, even though still working now, will most likely never be rewritten

TOTP auth would be great +1

Yep, this needs to happen, most services have 2 factor auth these days

I have it enabled for pretty much everything else. Come on! And please, let it be paired with authentication accounts like Authy.

I am fan of service like Authy trusting the private key to an external service is madness to me.

For our security, please…

I would like to see the official standard to be implemented: U2F - FIDO Universal 2nd Factor Authentication!

Up still no news on this any work from plex team ?

+1 This is really a must have feature given the sensitive content stored via Plex.

I check on this every few months. Any chance we are going to see 2-factor auth?

@stchizen Currently there’s nothing that I know of…

@eric_grau Thanks. I’ll just keep checking in. I would really like to see this implemented.

Me, too. I keep checking in for that reason… :frowning:

Good idea. Get a code in the Plex app on iOS to log in to Plex on a Mac for example. +1

I just looked at the Top Feature Requests thread. It makes me sad that this isn’t “liked” more security is a top priority for me. That is how we vote. Anyone else that reads this thread and wants to see 2-factor authentication of some kind should “like” the first post in this thread to get it up on the priority list.

Agree, this is now even more important with the Plex Cloud accessing other services.

Two factor authentication is pretty easy to implement and should be prioritized.

+1 for 2FA here as well.

+1 for 2FA

Plus one for me

I work in IT security and I agree. I 2FA on all my accounts and annoyed when I can not 2FA.

Have a setting to remember that device, so if you log in from your home desktop, save it since you know it will be you each login.
