Currently, if a movie is based on a novel and is indicated as such in TheMovieDB, Plex does not pull that data and display it. Plex only pulls writers and screenplay from the crew writing category. Request either a separate entry in the movie listing or put it in the writer category. It is very helpful when looking for all movies based on books by a particular author. Examples would be Agatha Christie, Leo Tolstoy, Jane Austen - authors with novels that have had many movie adaptations.
Plex will display the author on the new cast & crew page (not just the writer of the screenplay).
