Is it possible to increase the video cache to more than 30%/70mb?
Quite often my cache runs down to 0mb and I have to pause and let it recache. This is only a problem on Rasplex, the same videos cache fine on desktop clients.

I think you can monitor the cache by bringing up the Info during playback ( "i" key or the RETURN button on a samsung remote).
Exactly. I see the cache builds to about 70MB at 30%, then when it stutters if I bring up the options it shows its down to a few KB.
Also, a 30% cache of the same film on the desktop client is nearly double the amount cached...
The playback-cache can’t be increased much since it’s stored in-memory and the RPi has only a very limited amount of RAM (512 or 256MB). Sorry.
