Increased playback speed while watching via ROKU

We have recently started using Plex to view our hard drive recordings over out living room large TV screen as a family. We use ROKU and one feature we miss (having previously used YouTube, Netflix and VLC player, is the ability to play in faster speeds like 1.25x and 1.5x and 1.75x and 2.0x. We don’t normally view movies like this but for documentaries or other material which can easily be digested at a faster pace this is very handy.

Any chance you could include this over ROKU? I have been able to use it with a chrome extension but only when I am viewing using chrome on my laptop - not when watching over the network on TV

There’s already a rather popular suggestion discussing an option for Plex clients to modify the playback speed. I suggest you comment/vote in that thread in order to avoid distracting or cannibalizing votes.

Playback Speed

I use plex for checking my surveillance webcam. For quick scanning an option for different playback speeds (x2, x4, x16) would be awesome.    Other purposes would be: education videos, audiobooks, interviews (for transcription).   What do you think? Mod-Edit / Summary Currently supported for music libraries
