Install / upgrade fails on Debian 10.13 with 1.40.0.7996-4956e330f_amd64.deb

I’m running Plex Server version mention above and wanted to install the newest version 1.40.0.7996-4956e330f on my Debian 10.13 VM, but encountered the error below.
(sorry the error message is in german, as my Debian 10.13 is in german)

dpkg-deb: Fehler: Archiv »plexmediaserver_1.40.0.7996-4956e330f_amd64.deb« verwendet unbekannte Komprimierung für Element »control.tar.zst«, Abbruch
dpkg: Fehler beim Bearbeiten des Archivs plexmediaserver_1.40.0.7996-4956e330f_amd64.deb (--install):

Fehler traten auf beim Bearbeiten von:

# dpkg --version
Debian »dpkg« Paketmanagement-Programm Version 1.19.8 (amd64).

Apparently, it has something to do with unsupported compression of the provided .deb package. Maybe the .deb package uses a new compression-format.
I’m not in the mood to upgrade my Debian version to 12 right now.
Is there any easy workaround to allow me to install the newest Plex .deb package?

Hello,

I have the same problem on a debian 11. I had to unpack the .deb then recreate a new .deb from my distribution so that I could install version 1.40.0.7996-4956e330f_amd64. Apart from this problem, I have nothing to report.
