In personal media library interface, I’d like interface with a selected film brief description at top of screen (or at bottom, it’s not important) and list of 4-5 movies at the rest of screen. Now, to show the movie description I need enter in each movie and come back if I don’t want look it, to choose other movie and repeat the operation to read description.
I can attach an image to explain what I entend.
This has been a pet peeve of mine about the new interface on the Roku and on all other devices I use. On most screens there is plenty of wasted space and even when there is not there are other ways to accomplish a description on the screen.
Emby on Android devices has an option you can turn on that puts a short description on the screen at the bottom for a short while when a movie or TV show is selected if there is not already a description on the screen. This I find a big plus for Emby’s interface. However they have not, yet, incorporated it into the Roku interface.
On the Roku it should be very possible as the old client “RARflix” you could enable a feature called “Pop out” where a box containing a description would be shown in the lower right when a movie was highlighted.
The features mentioned in Emby and RARflix are optional but I find them VERY useful.
I guess Plex does not want to make it easy for users to know what each movie or episode is about.
