I have I library witha few thousand photos (32GB phone with no space left dumped its entire library to plex)
All of them have preview images. Some of the images display when selected. Others just spin a loading icon forever.
Those that load sometimes take several seconds.
How is it that a 4k video loads faster than a still image? Something is terribly wrong, and it makes the photo library unusable.
Hosted on dual hex core xeon linux server with 96gb of ram and ssds. Photos stored on raided magnetic drives in nas that also house the videos.
