I moved out a while ago, but share my Plex library with my family & friends. The way I approached this was by asking my family members to create their own Plex account, then add me as a friend. By sharing my libraries with them, they are able to access my content from the comfort of their own home.
As some family members are much younger, I have added the appropriate age restrictions. I have been asked if I can add a time restriction as well, so the younger viewers can only watch Plex for say 3 hours per day, or after a time of day, or only at weekends, for example.
Is this at all possible & if so, how would I go about doing it?
The restrictions for managed users covers limiting by ratings and labels, but not by time watched or used. That’s an interesting idea. You could post it in the Feature Request Voting forum. If your younger viewers are using iOS, you can use Apple’s Guided Access feature to further limit access, but I don’t think even they limit on time.
At this point, there is no method to manage viewing by time.
All I can suggest you do is go to the Feature Request forum and see if it’s already there to up-vote. If not, please feel free to add it.
The devs use the activity there to help prioritize their work

This is so funny on so many levels! The Development Team doesn’t prioritize anything in the Feature Requests forum at all, or some of the heavy hitting requests that are over 2+ years old would already be implemented when they had 500-600 votes instead of the 900+ they have now. They have their own roadmap that has nothing to do with the Features users have requested. It’s only when something has so much traction it can no longer be ignored that we get something we’ve asked for.
In fact @kinoCharlino didn’t even know there was already a request for this feature, so that tells me the Team has no idea what’s on that forum at all!
To the OP: As @beckfield has pointed out to you the thread, you know where the request is now. Please vote for it by adding a “Like” to the first post of the thread. Then sit back and wait a few years before it gets enough priority to actually become a reality…
