Is it possible to implement a media source for Plex?

Hey there,

I have a local media source (a Rest/JSON-API the provides URLs to videos). Is it possible to integrate that into Plex? Like can I use Python or JavaScript (or any other language) to write a plugin for Plex that lets me browse and play the videos from my source in the media center?

omg, that’s a terrible decision. so there is no way to create a custom media source?
