How about the core of Plex it’s media management and all the requests that are 5+ years old to fix, implement, update… Back before music, LiveTV, Dvr etc. etc. etc.
When is it we are going to get
Multi Movie support.
Proper subtitle support, forced, SHD,
NFO support
AND
I can’t tell you when the last one was implemented…
I ran out of votes years ago, would love to vote for a few of the newer requests/suggestions but since they don’t get implemented and I don’t get the vote back I just can’t.
But then again who needs media management in a media manager…
I use TMM for that since Plex can’t
When you say that do you mean more votes or simply retract your previous votes in favour of some newer requests.
If the former then yeah I agree and if the latter then you already can. )Not gonna teach granny how to suck eggs here)
On that note and to everyone in general its a wise move to review feature request votes.
I honestly don’t believe full Trakt integration will come to Plex (Emby clearly has a clear advantage here.) So for me a vote wasted.
However we have webhooks. If they became two way then full Trakt integration becomes moot.
For me that’s a more realistic/likely scenario. I know the Trakt dev has mentioned in the past that they are good to go as soon as Plex allow two-way webhooks.
Sadly though the (probable) pipedream of a native Trakt syncing has far more votes than
two-way webhooks and it would achieve the same thing.
Name 10 Plex Features that happened due to a Feature Request.
For a Million Monopoly Game Dollars and a date with Allison Janney (or Oliver Platt - for you Ladies)…
10 (Better make it) 60 Seconds on the clock…
Go!
Well, if you’re gonna use a database you can go out with Oliver Platt on your own dime.
Now for the date with Allison Janney, how many was Plex going to do anyway?
I know I’ve got 4 of my 5 votes tied up in Features Plex will never see. The real purpose of which is make me feel better having cast them into the void. Those are the Features we really need, like identifying/reading the name of the audio track you’d like to select, or perhaps even a Version, and other silly features Plex doesn’t have time for.
Don’t worry Allison wouldn’t go out with me - I’m too tall for her…lol
That’s a cool link. I knew I had seen the implemented tag in the past. Generally though I’m terrible at filtering on these forums.
That list actually goes on and on. I suppose it’s human nature though. If what we all individually use our votes on is living proof that Plex don’t implement feature requests.
Sorry and I’m really not trying to be a dick here. I have 5 votes cast and just removed them all. Then voted for four of them again. Just click on ANY feature request and it comes up with some message about “Limit” But it also says “list” which will show you where your 5 votes went. Just click vote on something you voted for and it removes the vote and frees it up.
Yea, basically just go get your votes back if:
the feature request is more than a year old
has more than 100 votes
cause chances are you can waste those votes more efficiently somewhere else.
You know this is all just bizarre and why I mostly prefer Reddit for Plex of late.
A question was asked. @pshanew came up with a filter (Not a database) that just scrolled and scrolled.
Still, the comments come that Plex doesn’t implement feature requests despite evidence to the contrary. Your/my preferred ones well maybe not.
Generally, though I’m realistic enough to realize the world doesn’t revolve around me.
If my desire for two way Trakt (natively or via two way webhooks) or Actor Thumbs on Android TV doesn’t ever happen and someone else’s 5 are all implemented tomorrow. Then??
Plexamp is a good idea but the execution is terrible, its so good i cannot remove a playlist item after i have added it… Dont get me started on the windows version that is so bugged is unusable.
So yeah i 100% rather have any of those old community requests fullfilled than any plexamp or other crap like that. I dont even get why in hell would they make plexamp, what is wrong in having one very good app generally for Plex? At least the equalizer was added to android version but still, a very poor one.
