I recently purchased the Plex pass and started recording television shows using the Plex DVR function. The file sizes range from 2 to 7 GB per television show. These large TS files are starting to eat up disk space on my Nas rapidly. are there any tips on how to have the DVR record to a smaller file size or preferably MP4?
I take all the TS files and use VideoRedo to recode to mp4 and in some cases remove commercials and also trim the videos down , 99% of the time you can just tell it to run ad-detective and it works flawless, but sometimes you will get missed items or a little trimmed if you do some shows on regular basis its easy to see the errors if any. but MP4 are alot smaller and play perfect.
