Is there an error in this support article?

Sorry I have no idea where to post this because there is no section for website/support articles matters.

I was recently sent to the support article page for Android, Android TV, Fire TV, Portal Logs. I think there’s an error in the information under Android TV & Fire TV.

First it says ‘to retrieve logs, you can do so by turning on logging, reproducing the issue’. Then it follows by saying ‘1. Reproduce the issue. 2. go to Network Logging and turn ON’. They seem to be the opposite instructions.

It does not really matter which order you do it. The app still logs with network logging disabled. Turning on network logging just enables you to get them via URL. Logs will be deleted if you do something like reinstall the app though.

I personally always

  1. turn it on network logging
  2. load up the URL in my computers browser
  3. scroll to the bottom of the logs in browser and you will see a line about getting logging (from when you loaded up URL in step 2)
  4. control C to copy that line ( or just the time stamp at the start of it)
  5. reproduce issue.
  6. reload the page in browser and then find on page the timestamp copied before.

That way you know everything after that time stamp is from reproducing the issue.

Thanks :slightly_smiling_face:
