Surely there should be at least some reply to this by now, even if it is “No, there is no way to edit this and we decided it was in the watchers’ best interest to wait 5 seconds longer between episodes.”
Sorry. That was harsh.
Usually the Plex team are on the ball and very helpful but a response on the decision to increase the delay and why it cannot be edited as a preference would at least be nice.
Same here, I’m wondering why. Granted we can’t adjust the netflix timing too but at least netflix is 15 secs iirc and not 20 secs. It shouldn’t be hard to add in a textfield in the settings of the roku app, web app, etc., and get the timer to pull it from settings instead of hardcoding it to xx secs. I wish functionality is there before changing of UI (which it seems like they like to do a lot)… maybe a reshuffle of work assignment needs to be in order?
Despite lack of feedback here I have noticed that the chromecast episode interval is back down to 15 seconds again with no update to plex server.
It would be good to understand where this time interval is set (plex server, plex client player, target reciever etc chromecast) so that issues regarding the interval could be correctly reported.
I want an answer too, this is very frustrating. There should be 0 delay between episodes or items in a playlist. Emby plays the next episode practically instantly. Plex should give us control over this and they darn well should be replying to this very important topic. This is one of the reasons I dislike using Plex, the delay is nonsensical.
Thanks @BigWheel. I’ve been here a while and was not aware that there was an official feature request section. initial searches for this issue ever even hinted. It is good to know. It is a shame it took a couple of years but I hope enough of the people that posted here have not given up reading new plees and can see your post to the feature request at Continuous Autoplay and vote it up.
It would have been good to have this information a couple of years ago though.
I actually have the opposite issue of most people on here; I have a disability and therefore when I am watching one episode at a time (not binging) it is sometimes hard to stop the next episode in time. I think the best option is to make the timer controllable, so that people can set it for what fits them best.
