there are issues trying to play my library i had shared to friends. They keep saying they can see my library but cannot play the videos…?? anyone have the same issue? They are using all types of devices as well so its not just one.
The speed of your server, your internet upload speed and their internet download speed, the bitrate of the media being played, as well as what settings they are using on their Plex Client all come into play.

its neither of those. i’m at the highest speed for my server. my home theatre works fantastically. The library sharing was working fine until an update hit in late September and now they cannot seem to view any videos i’ve shared. has nothing to do with speed. Is there a membership i am supposed to pay for to allow it to users outside my network? I have the Plex Pass. do they have to pay as well? not sure what the issue is. I can stream my own videos from outside my network when i am away just fine.

We still need information. We can’t help you without information. What it sounds like is a network issue. Hence why @hthighway asked about your internet download and upload speed, and the bitrate of your media being played.
