It doesn't looks like HDR playback is working

Server Version#:1.19.3.2843
Player Version#:4.19.2

I have a Samsung The Frame 2020 (Tizen 5.5) and a Synology NAS DS120 where Plex Media Server is running on. I have a FlexPass.
When I open my Flex player on my Samsung tv, I can start a movie from my Synology, but it looks like it HDR is not working. The colors are not bright. When I play it from my UHD player, the colors are more brighter and vivid.

Plex transcoding does not yet support HDR -> SDR tone mapping.

DirectPlay - where the file is sent without alteration, will be fine.
DirectStream - where only the audio is transcoded, will also be fine.

When the video itself must be transcoded, the HEVC HDR content will lose color because of that lack of HDR -> SDR mapping.

Engineering is working on it but no word on when they might complete it.

Ok, thank you, I’ll check my settings for that.

Ok, so I have started a movie which has HDR. If I look at my Dashboard, it says:
4K (HVEC Main 10 HDR) --> Direct Stream
Audio English (EAC3 5.1) --> Direct Play

So it’s ok with HDR?

That should be OK. It’s remuxing to handle an incompatibility.

A quick look at the logs would confim.

Look for MDE: .

That will tell you what it decided to do.
