Does Plex on Apple TV provide some way to do custom configuration, for example a keymap.xml file? (I currently do this in Kodi on Linux to customise extra CEC buttons.)
tvOS is a locked down system, so it’s not like I’m going to be sshing in and creating/editing files.
As you said, tvOS is completely locked down. Outside of an app’s settings, there’s no way to customize an app, whatever a company deploys for their app, that’s it.
Yep, it would be fairly straightforward for Plex to give users another way to provide config files though – one that doesn’t involve accessing the filesystem. Upload via a web interface for example.
It’d be good for you guys to consider adding something like this – no need for Apple’s walled garden to be any more locked down than it has to be.
@darcilicious Do you know which platforms if any would support both customisability (as above) and CEC? Raspberry Pi has both, but Plex doesn’t run on that and Rasplex is looking a bit elderly (I like collections).
