Where a channel has the restart live TV functionality, utilise the API to allow users to start a show that has already started, from the begging. This function may be more familiar to some markets than others. However as part of the HbbTV spec, channels can allow users to trigger an API that launches their catch up app (think BBC iPlayer) to play the current show from the start. This works with both live shows such as news or shows/films that are pre-recorded and usually triggers the specific player app if installed, obviously on the web interface it would need to trigger the web player and it usually requires the viewer to be signed into either the app or web player. Therefore on smartTVs (webOS, AndroidTV or other) it would just have to trigger one of the installed apps without needing integration of the player into the Plex app (although that would be useful for UK users).
