I don't know if this is a duplicate, so please remove if it is.
What I am hoping for is a restriction selection for user/friend quality or bandwidth settings. It would be really nice to limit the highest quality stream that a user can select using their account. Let's say I only have 5mbps of upstream to work with; it would be great to limit on a per user basis, the quality to 3 or 4 mbps.
This would allow my connection not to get saturated, and at the same time help the user select an optimum viewing experience.
I know a workaround would be to classify outbound traffic at the router, but in the case where remote users select a bandwidth higher than is allotted to them they would just get constant buffering. By setting an expected limit for remote users in plex restrictions, they can avoid trying to figure out what to set the quality to.
