It would be nice if there was support for AM/FM tuners so we could listen to all our local stations through Plex. Similar to how the live TV works. Be able to buy a tuner and connect it to our servers with an antenna then go into a corresponding category and search for then add anything it picks up.
Donāt listen to the naysayers. Iām looking for this exact thing so that I can stop paying SiriusXM or TuneIn for home team radio coverage when Iām on the road.

100% want this. Would love to listen to my local radio stations away from home.
I work in the broadcast industry and i can tell you FM is not going any time soonā¦ It has a very good stronghold in the car especially.
And while HD Radio is making progress, it will take a long time before the analog counterpart disappearsā¦

Iād like to 2nd (or 5th) this. You can get a lot of radio stations through apps but not all, and some stations donāt stream sports broadcasts because of licensing deals. Also if Plex added a DVR-like feature itād be great for making your own recordings.

are there any am/fm radio tuners that function in a manner that plex could even use them?
like a HDHR for radio ?
as it is, we have option for TIDAL (expensive, granted).
theoretically it would not be hard to add āiheartradioā or something similar that simply streamed local radio stations, instead of using a hardware tuner.
or, you know, you could just use the iheartradio app. 
Works except for live sports. A station may broadcast a sporting event over the air but not stream it due to licensing restrictions. Many teams, especially the pros, license streaming separately. For example, streaming Major League Baseball audio costs $20 / year USD via the MLB At Bat app. The local station that broadcasts the game OTA streams sports talk, infomercials, etc instead of the game.

I have a cheep RTL-SDR doggle I would like to have access to via plex or kodi. I would like to play local FM radio stations on various devices in my house much like plex does OTA Television. To have access to my local FM stations on the road would be an added bonus. I can play FM through the doogle with a program called SDR Sharp/Air Spy. Is there a Plex plugin that will do the same. I can only use the Widows version of SCR Sharp.
I agree. Radio tuner would be nice for plex. iheart and other apps wont work for sports. Would need to pay subscriptions for mlb, nba, and nfl to hear audio that plays free on local radio! Mark me as wanting this for plex too.

Problem is Iām finding it hard today to find an AM/FM tuner for a PC.
I would love to also have my radio stations streamed. I am looking at this exact tuner and it would be cool if it just treated the FM band like any of the TV stations just with no video?
Excellent idea. I would even set up a FM antenna at home if you tell me Plex allows analog radio channels in!
There are many open source options which decode the signals digitally, all we need is integration with Plex.

You can use GNURadio or other equivalent open-source code to play FM
Another vote for live radioā¦ With RTL-based SDR sticks becoming so cheap (You can pick them up for less than $15 now), and now that the ability to decode HD Radio (NRSC-5) has been reverse engineered as an FOSS project on github, the functionality should be doable, in the same way as the DVR support for live TV worksā¦ with the added benefit of being able to stream ANY radio broadcast in the SDRās range as an āadvancedā user feature (So police, fire, EMS, etc)
Iād be all over that and use it on the daily!

Hey gang, thank you for such a great product. Iāve paid for Life, Iām not goign JellyFin (yet!)
I have to route my āLive TVā option through a TV Headend server because your support is generally useless for channel numbers etc. You should put more work into that.
However, anything āLiveā is lobbed under the āLive TVā option.
Now, Iām autistic and way prefer audio over video given the option. Itās easier for me to mentally process.
There is no option to add āLive Radioā channels though as far as I can figure out? Keep that a seperate option from āLive TVā, but also deliver an EPG so I can see if the one presenter with the annoying voice is on air and skip it!
Have any of you figured out a solution for this, or could it be a feature request please? Itād REALLY help me.
