None of my home user accounts can see the Programming Guide or Recording Schedule and can only see recently recorded TV. I have been looking for a answer in the post for this one but I haven’t been able to find anything clear on the topic. The main account that I use for Administration is associated with the PlexPass and I have created accounts for the others in the house. Is viewing live TV restricted to only the account that is registered against PlexPass? Is there another strategy for Administration if this is true? I use Tablo also but I am interested in looking for another solution but if there is a limitation this would be a no go.
Other threads in the forum have discussed Live TV and the fact that currently only the Admin user has access to Live TV and Recording Schedule. There has been discussion about allowing other users access but Plex is not there yet.
Just popping in to say i’m using LiveTVH channel - and it works quite well. But you’d have to expose all the channels to the user, there is no fine control of which ones you open up.
That said, plex with LiveTVH ( https://github.com/taligentx/LiveTVH.bundle ) is talking to my raspberry pi running raspbian linux, with tvheadend ( https://tvheadend.org/ ) on top of it.
plex connects to it via tvhProxy ( https://github.com/jkaberg/tvhProxy )
I suspect you could run something similar with your chosen device, tvheadend is quite flexible.
All DVR type functionality seems 100% so far for me, live tv may be hit & miss here and there, but they’re improving it. use of a channel provides a way to share that with others, is all i’m suggesting.
Also requesting ability to select which home users or shared users can access schedule and record options. Like selecting which folders can be seen. Option to setup different destination directory would be useful too, (but not essential). Please let me select which users can and cannot record and see TV guide and watch live TV.

Or more importantly, NO scheduling. Live only.
