My server is running in a Ubuntu 18.04 Hyper-V VM on a Windows 10 host.
I have my server on version 1.16 as it is the only version that live TV works for me. Many times I have tried to update to a newer version, most recently to 1.18.3 and 1.18.8. After updating, all live TV playback fails with error “Unable to tune to channel”. Rolling back to 1.16 resolves the issue.
Things I have tried:
- Updating HDHomeRun to latest firmware
- Replacing HDHomeRun Extend with HDHomeRun Connect Duo
- Removing Live TV / DVR and re-adding it.
- Removing Live TV / DVR before updating to 1.18 and then re-adding it
- VM updates/restarts
Now the interesting part - I created a fresh VM with the same Ubuntu 18.04 distro, installed Plex Media Server, and live TV works. So, a brand new VM with brand new Plex installation works, but updating from 1.16 does not.
Hoping someone can help me out on this, very confused!
