I run into “You were able to sign-in but your server settings prevented lock for plex from reading your data” even when changing the network encryption to preferred or off and restarting plex. Tried logging out my user.
Ive disabled pincode for my user… im only connected to one server.
Even tried disabling the firewall (got the server on fedora 24)
Cant find anything in ur FAQ mentioning anything else, what am i missing?

I’d suggest opening plex/web in the same browser, preferably open a tab next to the loaded plex/web tab and load lockforplex.com - Suggest using basic security and both the PIN method of the sign-in method should be good to go.
Are you signing in to lockforplex.com from the same machine where you have your plex media server?

I’ve been opening plexwebapp and lockforplex in different tabs on chrome from a computer on the same LAN.
I’ve also tried from the fedora machine where i have the plex server itself and i get the same thing.
Basic security as in removing pin and allow non-enctrypted connections? (What ive been trying)

Strange. Yeah, basic security as in just a simple sign-in to plex media server and no added layers of security.
Tried it right now, working fine.

Does it ever come in to play that its fedora? Regarding who owns the files etc. Currently me as a user is owner, but plex have full access. Since well yea it’s working. Just so weird

I don’t think that Fedora would be an issue wrt connecting, you could give folks in the linux sub-forums a shout and ask them to give lockforplex.com a go =D
Best,
Now i even tried setting up a new plex server on this windows 10 machine, with a new user and email. Basic settings everything. Added a library and tried using lockforplex, still the same issue. Side note: the earlier lock for plex app actually worked if i used it from the fedora server itself before. So this new one doesnt work at all for me.
I suppose that other people aint experiencing this because they already have the plugin “all set” since before.

I love this plugin. Just one suggestion. The PIN is plainly visible in the py file. It should be at least masked using even a simple rudimentary masking logic so its not clearly usable by just looking at the file Just my 2 cents. Thanks again for this great plugin !
Where’s the preferred place to go for support of this plugin? The install link above says Reddit, however it appears to be locked down.
Here’s the problem… it doesn’t appear to work with CentOS 7 and Plex 1.10.1.4602.
The plugin generates fine. When I go to install it I see the channel, so all’s good there too. When I select the “lock” and “unlock” buttons, they both appear to work, but nothing actually happens.
In the lock_support directory I see the 4 files:
-rwxr-xr-x 1 plex plex 570 Jan 4 11:44 install.sh
-rwxr-xr-x 1 plex plex 457 Jan 4 11:44 lock.sh
-rwxr-xr-x 1 plex plex 56240 Jan 4 11:45 sqlite3
-rwxr-xr-x 1 plex plex 738 Jan 4 11:44 unlock.sh
At first, running ./sqlite3 resulted in: -bash: ./sqlite3: /lib/ld-linux.so.2: bad ELF interpreter: No such file or directory
I copied /bin/sqlite3 over top of it, reset permissions and restarted plex. No difference. I tried reinstalling the plugin, but this time I copied the “working” sqlite3 BEFORE running install.sh. It still doesn’t work.
Now, the kicker is, if I run “./lock.sh” and “./unlock.sh” manually I see the library disappear and reappear.

When you first generated the plugin, there was a section about running a command if the plugin prompts that you do not have permission. Run this command and restart Plex. That will likely solve the issue. If you need the command again, simply make a fake plugin with the same name and skip to the end.
Hello, with Plex Plugins no longer working, is there anyway I can unlock my hidden directories one last time? I just need to unlock them so i can figure out what to do with them now.
On windows Version 1.16.5.1554.
