Lost icon on iMovie Theatre

@Cyberghost84 made the changes for iMovie theater in his git (currently for iOS 5-7 only). I also copied his settings into mine as well (currently for iOS 8 only), he said he was successful in changing iMovie theater for all iOS revisions (5-8):

Keep in mind you will need to use the correct icon URL depending on your iOS revision. This can be used with iBaa’s git by making the same edits if desired or other git’s (themes) as well.

iOS 8 = com.apple.imovietheatre.appletv@720.png & com.apple.imovietheatre.appletv@1080.png

iOS 5-7 = iMovieTheatre@720.png & iMovieTheatre@1080.png

If you desire a different icon I have a few here you can replace with the original ones. Just make sure they match your iOS revision:

Credit for the fix goes to @jdrydn

Hopefully the icon change will now be permanent using the new code.

UPDATE:

I uploaded the custom plex icon on iOS 8 and set my DNS to auto just to test if it would switch back to the normal iMovie icon then I reset my aTV and its still stuck!

Added also the icon Url for iOS 8

Have a nice day:)

Maybe it didn’t work for me as I was using iMovieTheatre@ and both of the above links have com.apple.imovietheatre.appletv@ in the WebServer.py file?

Not a problem though, as I prefer to use the WSJ channel

You have to use the correct URL for the correct iOS but if you are happy with WSJ then you should b set.

Sorry to be dim, but is this still something that can be done through OpenPlex?
I’m using trailers, but I’d like to get back to using iMovie Theatre…

You can do it right from any git (theme) if you make the edits. Ghosts and mine is setup to upload the icon by default just follow the steps outlined in the app minus clicking the icon button sine it no longer works since apple changed something that doesn’t allow it to upload the original way. Everything you need is in this topic thru the links.

@baa gave me a better code to extremely simplify the icon upload for any url. Here is the commit:

Make sure you still include the edit in DNSServer.py from this commit and the desired icons in ./assets/icons:

https://github.com/jdrydn/PlexConnect/commit/cf0c709ea27095c89c043c2f097961dff2d78ce3

Again the icon seems to be stuck. I tested it by switching the aTV DNS from manual to auto and restarting the aTV to ensure it was still there.

Enjoy, many thanks to @baa!

Edit- OpenPlex updated for OS X with new custom icon upload method with full instructions for all icons that can be changed per iOS revisions (5-7 & 8). Should work with all themes but only tested with my theme. Any feedback if using an alternative theme would be appreciated.

Edit 2 - Only works for mine and cyberghost’s at the moment.
