Having a low power server and some users can be a pain.
I have to keep telling them to change their client settings to allow direct play.
It would be nice if we had the option to manage client settings on the server, with the option to lock them as well.
It would help with deploying plex to new devices as well.
Something I’ve been asking for over two years. There are already several posts here that wish the server administrator more setting options. I also have a lot of people who have no idea and it is always a big deal until everything is set up, especially since it is often reset to default when the clients are updated. Just cumbersome. I don’t understand why the client needs setting options at all? Only the admin should be able to decide this, after all he has to bear the big costs and has to make sure that the server is not unnecessarily used. I hope after more than 10 posts in the same direction, the programmers will finally implement something in this direction, it is really nonsense to give the users all possibilities and the server admin is then powerless unless he blocks these people, which actually can not be the solution.
