How do you enter the ip address numbers of another server into the manual server area on your plex settings and can switch in between them
This is not possible in all clients.
So please add some more detail:
which client(s) are we talking about?
is the second server one of yours
is the second server in your own local network?
A friend I know and its not on my local network but I can access it through my web browser, I also have the web ip address
Which Plex client software are you using?
Manual Server IP is not possible in the default web browser app.
And it is also not possible if the two servers are running under different Plex user accounts.
Why not using the default mechanism which will take care of all that?
- Sign in your server to plex.tv
- Sign in your friend’s server to plex.tv
- your friend sends your plex account an invitation for his/her server
- you accept this invitation

… and what Otto suggests works fine for us non-Plex Pass users.
I am sharing libraries with 3 ‘friends’ and they are reciprocating - without issue.
Ensure Remote Access is working, ‘Invite Friend’ in user area with their Plex.tv Username (or email, but who can remember that?). Painless.
