WHY isn’t there a way to STOP automatic tasks that show up in the Activity feed? Sometimes I don’t need a device to be “Refreshing guide data” or “Detecting intros”. I want to kill unnecessary activity such as this.
I actually turned OFF those features, yet it still does them. I have about 10,000 files of video content (40TB) and these features take a ridiculously long time to complete, especially on an older (but still reliable and GOOD piece of equipment)… these “features” aren’t necessary for me and I don’t want them to execute, but can’t shut them down if they should spin up like they still do.
I have a main server (2008 R2) and 3 cascading duplicate backups to 3 separate READYNAS units. All 4 devices function as Plex media servers, and the overhead of doing INTRO or GUIDE scans is unnecessary work for these NAS units. Plus… I don’t care about skipping intros (what ADD-diagnosed developer thought this feature was that important anyway lol?) As for guides, with 20TB of movie content, I rarely watch TV so I don’t NEED to update the guide every day…)
