I have a very large library in a single location, a zfs pool. I was presently connecting to it via Samba, lets call this S: drive.
I wanted to migrate to use rclone mount / ssh. So I created a R: drive. I added the R: drive to my library. After a scan i got mostly but not all duplicates. I did it this was so I could see what a new scan was going to change. Satisified that the new metadata was about 99% the same as my old metadata I went to remove the S: drive.
The UI times out with “Your changes cound not be saved”. Which is confusing. After looking at the console however, it seems plex is litterally going media_item by media_item and removing them from the db which is taking longer than the UI is willing to wait. I would think the DB would get cleaned up as part of the next library scan. But it seems its doing it as soon as you save changes to a Library.
